Alfredo Jaar is exhibiting The End of the World (2023–2024) in the main exhibition, In Minor Keys at La Biennale di Venezia, open now through November 22.
It has been cited as a highlight of the exhibition by Artforum, Artreview, and considered one of the defining works of the edition by Artsy.
The presentation follows his 2025 exhibition of the same work, La Fin du Monde at La Patinoire Royale Bach.
The work is a 4 cm square cube composed of 10 of the most critical minerals in the world today, providing a searing and poetic commentary on our dependence on extractive industries and the interconnected human consequences of the trade.
