Joana Vasconcelos presents a solo exhibition entitled Extravagâncias
at MON (Oscar Niemeyer Museum) in Brazil, curated by Marc Pottier, on view from 23 November 2023 through 26 May 2024.
Recognized for her monumental sculptures and immersive installations, Portuguese artist Joana Vasconcelos invites visitors to dive into a new universe at the Oscar Niemeyer Museum. Extravagâncias brings together works with stratospheric dimensions, such as Miss Dior Valkyrie and Matarazzo Valkyrie.
Marc Pottier's curation reveals installations and sculptures that go beyond and invade the Museum's space, giving a glimpse of Joana Vasconcelos' extensive professional trajectory, which, with humor and irony, questions the status of women, consumer society, and collective identity.
