To commemorate ten years of creation, le BAM museum (Beaux-Arts Mons) presented a solo show entitled Hell'O Enjoy the Show.
Through their approach, which combines extreme iconographic freedom with rigorous execution, Jérôme Meynen and Antoine Detaille produce a fertile imaginary world, sometimes grotesque but always poetic. A sort of strange, fantastic bestiary, populated by enigmatic animals and vaguely human, asexual creatures, made up of forms and symbols drawn from the iconography of fairy tales, fables and other ancient and contemporary mythologies.
Using a healthy dose of humour and mockery, Hell'O challenges human weaknesses in compositions that blend metaphysical reflection and nonsense, emphasising mystery and the viewer's free interpretation.
