"Language is a major part of my work, and I think of photography as a language." These words by visual artist, video maker, and photographer Lebohang Kganye, born in 1990 in Katlehong, South Africa, form the backbone of the compelling exhibition The Work of Shadows, currently on view in the nave of La Patinoire Royale Bach gallery in Brussels. Through a series of installations where shadows and light alternately reveal and dissolve one another, she unveils fragments of her family history and the history of her country.
