It was his training as an architect that led the American artist to reflect and work as a "sculptor" (but also photographer and filmmaker) on buildings slated for demolition. His deconstructive performances dissect their structure and innards. This breathtaking operation of caesuras (on an urban scale for some of his projects) can be found in his sculptures (absent here), in his subtle collages of photographic polyptychs and in some of his films. The imposing projection of four of these in the nave of the Galerie La Patinoire Royale Bach reflects the monumental dimension of his work and the pioneer he was in this field.
