Overview

Renaud Auguste‑Dormeuil is a visual artist whose practice, since the mid‑1990s, probes how images are produced, circulated, and instrumentalised in public and political arenas—mapping the skies before bombings, charting the mechanisms of surveillance, and lately adopting more metaphorical, speculative forms. His work has been shown internationally and belongs to major museum, foundation, and private collections. Among numerous honours, he received the Prix HSBC pour la photographie (2004), Prix Meurice pour l’art contemporain (2010), and Prix 1 % Marché de l’Art (2022), and he was a resident at the Villa Médicis, Rome (2009–10). He lives and works in Paris.
